In addition to helping you get started with a free class, the Center furnishes mats, blankets, bolsters, blocks, and other items that you can use during class. Why practice yoga?

There are over twenty million Americans enjoying the benefits of hatha yoga. Why is hatha yoga receiving so much attention and acclaim from so many? Why has hatha yoga received widespread respect among noted doctors and other health professionals? The answer is, it works! Yoga and meditation provide powerful methods for personal growth, uncovering all that is best in ourselves, letting go of daily concerns and frustrations to discover physical strength, flexibility, endurance and those internal reserves of peace, confidence, integrity, patience and compassion buried deep within us.

What is hatha yoga?

Hatha yoga, inherent in all the different styles of yoga, is a balance of breath work, strengthening movements and slow, concentrated stretches ending in deep relaxation. Promotes strength, flexibility, greater energy, tension relief, weight control, good posture. Through a consistent, regular practice over time, it has been scientifically documented to gently reduce stress and increase strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, mental concentration capability and organ function. It enhances the immune, cardiovascular, circulatory, respiratory and nervous systems and contributes to a feeling of general well-being.

Can anyone do hatha yoga?

Yes. Hatha Yoga can be done by anyone, in any shape, in any condition and at any age! It is a systematic and holistic approach to exercise.

Is hatha yoga a religion?
